balanced audio splitter

Thread Starter

Hello,

I would like to ask you guys a question that maybe is dumb for you,

but I'm not sure about it:

I have a pc audio interface (UX2) with balanced outputs,

I'm feeding the outs to a little dot mk V listening in hd 650.

I have a pair of studio monitors I would like to connect to the same outputs,

without having to unplugged and plug back in...

so is there any splitter that allow me to share this outputs with balanced internals?

and do you know if that will degrade the audio quality somehow?

my gut feeling said yes, but maybe not... I don't know

If it does then maybe building some kind of switch could work, right?

I'm more a musician than audio expert, so please apologize in advance if this is too dumb question.

thanks for any help !!

Mapletree Audio Design do a balanced line router, the LR 1 pro. I have an unbalanced LR 1, and its a pretty nice switchbox.

A bit late maybe, but have you seen the one by Goldpoint? http://www.goldpt.com/sw2x.html The SW2X-O seems to fit your needs, but it's expensive unfortunately.

You ask a question, you get an answer!

In simple terms, if you aren't an engineer and can build yourself a nice "mixer" per se, then you'll actually have to buy a mixer to do this for you.

STOP trying to combine the two with a Y-Splitter. You will eventually ruin one or the other device. What you want to do can only be solved simply with a mixing device or a mixing board. Click on link below for an example of what you need.
