Hello everyone. I see that I didn't quite move fast enough!! But as you see I am bringing out the Liquid Fire amp for commercial availability. As MOT I can't really say more in the diy forums, but you all know where the website is and can contact me through the email address provided there. Thanks to you all for the interest.

DB,

Thanks for your input.  I have a new WA22 w/Tesla T-1's so your comments are relevant to me.  This doesn't have balanced inputs as well does it?

I wonder if this is going to be around $2K.

I believe 6Moons suggested it will cost close to $3,000, which is way beyond what I am ready to spend on any amp frown.gif . Looking into the Decware Taboo and Apex Peak at the moment...

I was hoping for it to be closer to the $2000 range. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

With a gain of 8.5x, the amp will clearly not be ideal for efficient low-impedance headphones. Guess I can scratch it off my list now. frown.gif Too bad because I really like the form factor too.

Though it does look like a very good amp for the LCD-2 considering the power output specs, among a few other headphones that come to mind....

Agreed. Looking forward to the opportunity at some point to hear the LCD-2 on this amp.

Dang thats quite the tag for what is essentially a market penetration product.  Here's hoping no massive power resistors mounted to the case ala Rudi ;)

I had been having this exact discussion with AC quite recently and the good news is that the amp can be configured for a much lower gain. I have not tested how it sounds at such low gain but it will have oodles of current for low Z headphones and at a gain of 4 , would be an ideal amp for audiotechnica/grado/dennon partnering. I know it is not yet posted on the website but it is a no cost customizable option if anyone wants to request such an option. I think even at lower gain it will drive the LCD2 well, vintage orthos not so much.

It may well be a market penetration product for Cavalli Audio but we all know cavalli designs and this offering (imho) is dropping a cherry on the top shelf of the market. Make no mistake, this amp is meant to compete with the best that is being offered today and I eagerly await peoples impressions as the review models begin to make their rounds.

Hello gents. I think I can comment here.

Gain is configurable by adjusting the NFB and this will be available. I am slowly pulling the website into better shape where things are described more clearly.

look forward to reading the test group's thoughts especially compared to admittedly less expensive competition that also run tubes feeding mosfets.

Real pics are up at the Cavalli site and orders are apparently now being taken.

Spectacular looking amp!
