**********SOLD!****************

Hi all,

Up for sale is a tube headphone amp and pre-amplifier that I bought a few months ago.  It was my first piece of equipment that used tubes and I bought if for that reason.  I wanted to to see what tubes were about.  And I was very happy with what I heard.  It's a fantastic sounding amp for the price and a good sounding amp overall.  But don't take my word for it...

Here's a review on this unit from Skylab (is there anything he hasn't reviewed?): http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/421314/review-musical-paradise-mp-301-tube-headphone-speaker-amp

And the link to the Musical Paradise website: http://www.musicalparadise.ca/mp/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=68&zenid=suq54

Finally here's a link to some pics that I've taken: http://picasaweb.google.com/wantmyf1/MusicalParadiseMP301?authkey=Gv1sRgCLqAjcaV-IOvoQE#

I've taken a couple close-up pics of the tubes, for a reason.  I know nothing about tubes themselves so please don't ask me.  All I can tell you is that they look like they're Chinese based on the characters on the tubes.  I took close-ups so you can see for yourselves what tubes are used and make your own judgement.

The cosmetic damage is pretty obvious when you look at the pictures but that's the only bit of damage on it.  Unfortunately it arrived to me in that condition and I wasn't willing to send it off again to be fixed.  It was easier to live with the flaw.  It just wasn't that important to me.

The person who had it previously claimed that he had upgraded it with improved circuitry and silver wiring.  I have no reason to doubt his word but, at the same time, I haven't opened it up to confirm it either.

$160 USD ($165 CAD) +shipping makes you the new owner!  Be aware though that this unit weighs about 16 pounds so it's no light weight.  If you're interested in checking out tube equipment this is an ideal starter amp.  Not a bad finishing one as well.  But it's low price and great sound is a perfect introduction to tubes.

Thanks for your interest!

Wow, I actually have to bump something? I rarely have to do that. I think $160 is a fair price for a quite good tube amp. Maybe I'm wrong?

You do realize that two of your links go to the musical paradise website. You pasted the same link twice lol !!!

But nice amp though bought one off Skylab. Add some Svetlana tubes and it changes the sound drastically for the better.

Really?  Oops!  I guess I should fix that (now fixed).  Thanks!

Last bumped 17 days ago.  I should probably stay more on top of this.  I guess that gives you an idea of how important it is to me to get rid of this!
