so when you have wav files, basically there is no info on the songs under properties.

if i were to sync songs in .wav on an ipod, will they still show up under the proper artists?

I haven't tried to sync .wav files, but I did have a set of Beethoven symphonies I had stored as .wav then converted to mp3 and added to my iTunes sync folder. I am pretty sure they are transferred to the iPod but i can't seem to locate them. They show up in iTunes as Unknown Artist, but not on my iPod that I can find. I'll have to manually retag to at least include the composer to see them I think. I'm not sure how this affects your ability to use .wav, but it can't be good.

So that forces you to check by song name then huh?

Yeah, it's a bit annoying, but not a deal breaker. I wish these players would take a page from Foobar and allow listing by original folder structure. I LOVE that foobar does this. I can find anything instantly, but on my Zune and iPod sometimes it can take a bit.
