Stupid transformer question

I'm sure this is a stupid question but here it goes.  I finally got my Bijou amp pretty much done and the transformer wiring together but there are unused wires.  What do you guys do with them?

Cut off the exposed metal and put heatshrink over the end.  Then secure them somewhere out of the way.

Thanks!  I'm new to the diy world and I don't know what best practices are regarding the little things.

I use the wire nuts, too. I usually clip the lead a bit short and put one on.

I like to leave at least part of the lead there. You neve know if someone is going to salvage the transformer 10 or 20 years on and might need it for something.
