Shipped prices include the continental US shipping only. If you want more than one item, I will find out what the shipping cost will be. PayPal only; all prices include the PayPal fee of 2.9% + $0.30. All prices are in USD. Most offers will be considered, lowballers will be politely ignored. PM me with your email and I can send you bigger pictures or a picture of a specific part of a headphone. I'd like to keep the sale to the continental US for now.

My Old Feedback + My New Feedback

The Details

The HF-2's (SOLD) are great; I'm the original owner, and I love them dearly. I got them during the rush on TTVJ. I'd like to sell them with the Quantaray case; it's a really great case that has someone elses original box foam in them, so the grado's fit snugly and safely. The original box would also be sent along. I'm not certain why they're b-stock; my thinking is that it's one of 2 things: there's a bit more glue than necessary, and the headband wasn't perfectly arc'd. I'm extremely pedantic and tried to capture these in my pictures, however each time I failed to do so. Let me know if you want me to try again. I've put around 150 hours on them, the first 100 were burn in with pink noise and some hard rock.

The K340's (SOLD) were my second foray into the hifi world, and I truly love them. I am almost certainly going to regret selling them. They're the bass-heavy model and were recabled by a previous owner to balanced. I'd throw in a 8" balanced to SE adapter I made for $10 (parts cost). The previous owner did a very good job with the recable; it's covered in nylon multifilament, though I don't know what the cable is inside. The elastics were recently replaced, and they're very clean. I've probably put 150 hours on them since I got them a year ago. I've got a set of pleather pads and a set of velour pads for them that I'd include, so you can "pad-roll" if you're inclined. The pleather pads aren't peeling, the original vinyl pads are still in pretty good condition, and the velour pads are in great condition. In the picture, the K340 pad's are the center and right-most pads.

The K271MKII (SOLD) were my office headphones, until my coworkers started complaining that I couldn't hear them poking in my cube. Then they were my home phones until my wife complained that I couldn't hear her. Now I just don't use them. I burned them in for 100 hours and then have probably put another 100 on them. I've got a 10' DIY Mogami 2893 cable covered in nylon multifilament terminated in a Neutrik REAN mini XLR and a Impact Acoustics 3.5mm jack that I'd like to sell along with them. They come with the original box and all of the original accessories, and are in excellent condition. I'm the original owner. The pads the ones on the left in the photo of the 3 pads.

I'm selling these because: the K271MKII isolate too much for my current needs, and the K340 leak too much. I'm looking to shift to closed cans that isolate "some;" I've got an office pair, I'd like a home pair as well. The HF-2's... I love, but the fully-open design does not mesh well with apartment living.

I've also got a PPAS made by FallenAngel that I've put some hours on, mostly on train rides in and out of Boston. I'd sell it for $120 shipped. It pairs very nicely with the K271MKII's. I probably should make a new thread for this in Amplification, but I'll try here, at least until the headphones sell.

I'd be up for trading for a nice aluminum enclosure with the panels cut out, but not for any headphones at this time.

Thanks for looking!

Those are a spare set of K271 velours? If so, care to sell them separately?

The K271 velours actually come with the K271MKII stock, along with the vinyl pads. I plan on sending them along to whoever buys the K271.

The K340 velours fit the K271 though (probably my K340 velours are K271 velours, in actuality). if whoever buys the K340's isn't interested in them, I'll let you know.

Very Interested on the K340 , will PM soon if I decide to buy them.

I'm at least the third owner of the K340's; I bought them from audiosceptic in December/2009, who bought them from vcohedain July/2009. I don't know about their history before that, but it's probably fairly long, the phones being discontinued since the late 80's.

jezz: Yea, the K340 accepts K271 velours. Lmk. Out of curiosity, what's the deal on the PPAS? Opamps, buffers, etc.

che15: You know you don't want those crummy velour pads on your K340. Maybe he'll cut you a price break or something if you let me buy them.

Are the K340 a good match for the WA6?

I don't know. I haven't heard the WA6. You might consider asking in the Full-Sized Headphones or Amplification forums, lest we break the "no discussion in FS threads" rule.

To be honest, I've never opened the PPAS. The battery's been fine since I got it, and I liked how it sounded enough to not care about its inner bits. I just tried to open it but apparently FallenAngel is body builder, as I could not get the front panel screws off as hard as I tried. I don't feel confident that I could open it without permanently harming the screws (or myself; bleeding from my hand a little). I can try again if pressed, but I need to unpack some of my proper tools first so it would be a few days. I just moved so I'm not sure where my "good" screwdriver is.

I did get the back panel off; the discrete buffer daughterboards aren't present. FallenAngel has built several PPAS, and I believe they all have AD8066/OPA132 in them. My hunch is that this has them too.

Do you have the box for the k340. Did the previus owner do the recable himself or did he send them to headphile. They look very alike to the headphile cables.

I do not have the box for the K340's. I believe the previous owner recabled them and did not send them to headphile.

Fantastic headphones, a beautiful DAC and a lovely looking cable; but I'm looking for closed cans, am happy with my γ2, and don't on an HD800 . Good luck with your sale, but I'm not interested in those.

AKG K271MKII's are sold.

The AKG K340's are sold (have been for a while actually). The buyer backed out on the HF-2's, so HF-2's are back for sale. The PPAS is still available as well.

I bought a pair of W1000X's, so I'm no longer interested in trades.
