My macbook is in need of a fresh copy of osx. I want to transfer my library to an external drive, but will I be able to somehow keep my playlists in tact when I finally move the music off the drive and onto my computer? I have a bunch of electro trance house tracks that I will lose if I don't keep them in a playlist. Cheers

Sennheiser HD-598s are the most comfortable headphones I've had the opportunity to use. I recommend these wholeheartedly for any first-time hi-fi buyer because of their excellent soundstage and...

I just received my SigPros (bought from a fellow head-fi'er), and now have several hours with them. They are great headphones. Agree with most of what everyone's saying about them. These...

Beats out the Bose Triport, the HD 202 and HD 435s, the AT M35 and AT M50. Just try it and see. Extremely comfortable (I wear mine while commuting and studying, for about 5+ hours a day). Bought...

Why will you loose the tracks if you loose the playlist? A playlist doesn't have the tracks in it, if you loose the list, the tracks will still be in your library. As long as you have given the songs artist names so you can find them again.
If you export the playlist, then you can import it again when you switch computers. all it does is export the track organization, and when you import, it recreates the playlist from songs in your library. It's in the "file" menu on a mac.

Sure,
Just keep the exact same folder/file layout. The iTunes library have hard-coded folder/file addresses, so you can copy and paste as much as you like to/from hard drives as long as you keep the folder structure the first time you fire iTunes again.
