Well..hopefully Sony releases the A850 in North America but I doubt it

to be honest not sure if there is any difference between A850 and NWZ- A840 line...seems to be the same

It says 3 of 4, and I don't see 4. I wonder what the 4th one is..(new X series?)

They do look pretty similar don't they?  I wonder if they will bother with a North American release?  Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I am *DYING* (and I mean D-Y-I-N-G) for Sony to release a successor to the X-series...something with Android, hopefully.

I second this, although it would be fine with the current firmware.

The main thing (after the capacity) X lacks is IMHO ergonomics. Current button layout is kind of weird and it is nearly impossible to change songs, play/pause etc without taking the player out of the pocket.

If they take the sonics of the X and put it in the A850 series, I'm all over it. I have the NW-A847 and I still slightly prefer the NW-X1060 to it both in soundstage and overall sonics. They're close, though. I'd still get the Japanese one for ATRAC anyway.

 

If anything, it would have been nice to see Sony take a lead and do a 128GB DAP.

yeah, I was hoping for a 128gb too. I still can't see any difference between the A850 and NWZ- A840 line...not sure what warranted the change in model name. maybe i am missing something? 

 

the problem with atrac is they still haven't come up with a mac compatible sonicstage. so unless you are using windows, no lossless..
