1/4" female jack for the headphones

For the front panel of a new headphone amp in progress, I need an elegant-looking, gold-colored 1/4" female jack. (The body inside the case can be any color, I'm mainly concerned about appearance of the exposed section outside the panel.) I had no idea this would become an immense research project. I've searched half a dozen suppliers and can't locate one. Everything I see is silver or black and utilitarian-looking. And I'm uncertain how to judge quality.

Can someone point the way?

Not only aesthetics, but of course specs need to be good. The amp is a Sjostrom Audio QRV-07, very low distortion and high power, so the jack must be audiophile quality.

Grateful for suggestions.

Maybe you could get a Neutrik NJ3FP6C gold plated?

You might still have the black circle but at least the shell would be gold...

Just a thought.

Finally found a couple. Does it make any difference which type I would use? (Guitar or panel mount) Which is likely to be the better audio quality?

They're both Switchcraft, so I doubt you'd notice a difference between them for audio quality. I might suggest the second one unless you want to be able to attach a guitar strap to your headphone amp .

I ended up ordering the one from South Carolina Music Parts, which operates out of Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Mistake. After one week of no confirmation except from Paypal, I wrote the firm to inquire when to expect delivery. I got a lame boilerplate response about them losing all their operators, and they'd get to my order after another ten days. I sent the proprietor who responded, Domenick Mezzapesa, a 3-day deadline to ship or refund. He failed.

A little internet research revealed that he runs his music and guitar parts business under half a dozen different names, and all of them are targets of complaints filed at ripoffreport and similar consumer protection sites:

Pin-Up Music Parts -- pinupmusicparts.com

Long Island Music Parts -- longislandmusicparts.com

Carolina Guitar Parts -- carolinaguitarparts.com

South Carolina Music Parts -- southcarolinamusicparts.com

I filed a nondelivery dispute with Paypal and within one day they approved it. I think there is probably a torrent of such disputes against this guy right now.
