I hope the amp is ok!

The local Walmart keeps the rocket motors in a locked glass display case

I like the way the police seem to blame the packaging for the problem. And I assume that the "loose wiring" is what they called "point to point" wiring as seen by the x-ray.

It's all the FUD people spread, and they spread so easily thanks to the Internet and Celphones. I get so much junk mail and SMS these days about everything from how microwaves will kill your DNA, how you can die from turning on the air conditioning in your car, from being careful of policemen because they will bang on the door of your house and try to kidnap you, etc.  And the sad thing is people all believe this BS. That's why people are so paranoid these days.

I took the day off to take my son to the local fair and, when we returned, had a few urgent voice messages to call the office.  Unfortunately, the calls came in a little after noon and we didn't get home until after five.  The message (had two almost back to back) said something about mysterious crate with wires addressed to me.  I wondered why they didn't call my cell, and when I got it out of the Camelback, it turns out that they did call me about four times but being at the rather loud environment of the fair, didn't hear it.

all good things.  ^_^

That's so strange.  You get to watch your own 'unboxing' video...........

Your probably on the National terrorist watch now.

It kinda reminds me of this time when the cops were called because someone thought they saw a baby in a garbage can in front of a Walmart.

It turned out it was just a burrito.

Hahahahaha

I hadn't caught that particular video until you pointed it out.  As a Head-Fi'er, that's strange to see the news covering--via overhead helicopter--what, as you said, turned out to be the unboxing of a tube headphone amp (an amp that many veteran Head-Fie'rs can recognize, even from that fuzzy distance).

I'm going to have to try that cable-yank box-opening trick next time I get a delivery.

Perhaps this all occurred because one of the X-ray techs was actually a seasoned Head-Fi'er?

In all seriousness now, AudioDwebe, I hope you didn't get into any real trouble over this at work.

Yeah, are you being penalized for this? I hope you do okay!

Great story.

They should launch products like that.

Be thankful they didn't use a robot to blow up the package! Did any tubes survive?

LOL! Thanks for the read. :)

What a crazy story!

Still, glad to hear that everyone's OK and that the took the precaution rather than risk it really being a bomb.

Can anyone download this video? It needs to be put into a secret Head-Fi archive somewhere.
