AT-W5000 and AH-D7000 stock cable opinions? Worth replacing?

Hi

I have bought a second hand pair of W5000's, and hope to get a pair of D7000's in the near future. I have read good things about the stock D7000 cable, but couldn't find much commentary on the W5000 cable.

How good are the stock cables and connectors on these two phones? How much would I be looking at spending in order to be able to hear a reasonable improvement in sound quality on a replacement cable? Any recommendations?

My source is a Logitech Transporter connected by AudioArt IC-3 balanced cables to a Violectric HPA V200

Thanks in advance

The stock W5000 cable is pretty decent for a stock cable, but compared to aftermarket ones its not real impressive.

I recabled my W5000 to balanced cables from Moon Audio (or I should rather say Drew at Moon Audio recabled my headphones).    I can't really comment on a simple single end cable change, but going the balanced cable, and balanced amplifier really opened my eyes, as my jaw dropped.  Going balanced totally dropped the "politeness" I had associated with the W5000, and made them much more energetic sounding, with better bass. I had been considering selling my W5000s, I am sure glad I did not.
