So did they take the coasters out?  I know there was a waterpark too when I was there but it was a small part of the park as a whole.  As for Knights of White Satin, I think it was the best attraction in the park because 1) it was air conditioned and 2) it was unique.   They had the insides painted all crazy and gave you some glasses that made the walls move and stuff, while of course playing the song.  The park as a whole was doomed to fail.  The location was bad, the price was too high and the park was too small.  You could go on every ride and see every show in about 3 hours if you planned it right.

How about any favorite rides and or rollercoasters? Space Mountain at DL is actually one of my Top 5 steel.

I'm not sure I have a favorite park really. I do like the ambiance of the Disney parks but they lack a good variety of good coasters.  Cedar Point has great coasters but I've never been there at an off peak time so I've always had to fight the lines.  I waited 3 hours to ride Millennium Force shortly after it first came out.

As far a coasters go  Space Mountain at Disneyland Paris is my favorite but I haven't been on it in a long time.  Typically though, as long as its steel I'm happy.  I have a bad back and I can't handle all the rattling on a wood coaster, although Son of Beast is one of my favorite coasters and its wood, mostly.

I was at Disneyland/California Adventure Park last weekend. My first time on Tower of Terror. Reminding me of being on a roller coaster except there are only climbs and descent sections. My favorite parts of roller coasters are the climbs and descents, so naturally I loved the Tower of Terror. I also really liked how the initial drop was not obvious like on a roller coaster. On a roller coaster you are prepared for the drop because you are at the peak of the hill and are expecting and prepared to descend next... But on the Tower - you are just sitting there in an enclosed building minding your own business, watching a neat little Twilight Zone type video, when all of a sudden... (oh sh!t). I guess the ride really wouldn't have the same effect the second time around, so I guess its not that great for multiple trips.

Actually, my favorite coaster of all time is a wood coaster. But it didn't feel like an ordinary wood, it was pretty smooth. It's Terminator at Magic Mountain, built by GCI.

I've also had steel coasters feel more rough than wood. Ghost Rider at Knotts was pain and torture, but X2 at Magic Mountain was far more painful. And it was a steel...

Yeah I hedged a bit; the Magnum xl-200 at Cedar Point was/is torture for me and its steel.  I only rode it once and will never do it again.

I've been on both smooth and rough examples of both wood and steel coasters, it just depends on the design. The roughest coaster I've been on is the Mean Streak at CP. It's wood, and it's huge. The line actually goes through the coaster, so while you're waiting you get a real good look at just how nasty this thing is. It's also a pretty long ride, nearly three minutes.

Loved the Magnum, we rode it when it first opened. We did two trips, once in the front car and once in the back. The front is the best - at the first drop, because of the car design, you can't see any track between you and the bottom of the 200 ft drop. You basically free-fall down to the bottom. It's definitely a rough ride, you'll know you've been on a coaster. The Magnum is still the biggest coaster I've ridden.

Actually, the Batman:Knight Flight (the B&M floorless) went to King's Dominion as Dominator, X-Flight (Vekoma Flying Dutchman) went to King's Island as Firehawk, Mind Eraser (Arrow Boomerang) went to Carowinds, and Serial Thriller (Vekoma SLC) went to Michigan's Adventure.  Aside from a few flats, I think everything else was scrapped.  The Big DIpper had it's last day for sale yesterday, and will be demolished.  They only use the Sea World side of the lake, and they've done a decent job of expanding it to makea nice water park.

Mean Streak is rough, and the best way to ride is to pull your back off the seat.  Less vibration.  The roughest was Son of Beast at King's Island.  Now that the loop is out of it, there's no pleasurable experience on that ride.

As for Magnum, the money seat is 1-3 -- that being, the third row of the first car.  If you love floater air, you'll get it in spades.  It's been repainted, and it's got some smoothness back....  But get back to Cedar Point.  They've broken the height record twice (Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster) since ol' Maggie.

You seem to know your coasters. A member of TPR I presume? I am.

I think Cedar Point is on of the best parks in the world. Their collection of coasters is simply unmatched, except by Six Flags Magic Mountain. Although Magic Mountain has a better variety of coasters, Cedar Point seems to have a "higher bar" for their bigger ones. Ex: Millennium vs Goliath, TTD vs Superman. Maverick is also one of their signature rollercoasters and I wish Magic Mountain would get something similar, as those crazy Intamins are pretty amazing.

Anyone see the latest confirmed rumor for Cedar Points new ride? For those of you who haven't, it's a 300ft tall swing ride called, Windseeker. Built by Mondial, it's very similar to a Star Flyer.

Coasterbuzz, actually.  And the Starflyer isn't a rumor.  It's a lock.  They announced it recently.  Same thing going in at Knotts and a few other CF parks.

Sounds like you had the blue train with the messed up axle.

Oops, my bad. I meant to say, "the latest confirmed rumor". Kings Island, Knotts, Cedar Point, and Carowinds, are the ones getting them. You've heard the story behind all that, right? Funtime Industries was very mad and threatened Cedar Fair they would use legal action because they didn't buy their ride, the Star Flyer. Oh brother.

Yeah, pretty sad of Funtime, really.
