The apple ipod or the sansa fuze IMO, I really like the fuze's ability to render the frames in rockboy pretty smoothly.
They render frames just as fast as my cowon d2+. I have never tried the others.

Tip: rockbox will be ported to android in the future, so think about that while you are looking for a PMP, since there are many android PMPs in the market today (the new archos line being one of the most recent and affordable)
