SQ of Pirates of the Carribbean Soundtrack

Just recently got the whole set of Pirates of the Caribbean DVD (I know it is old) and instantly love the soundtrack.  And hence I go get individual soundtrack CDs and found out that the recording of The Curse of The Black Pearl (the 1st one) sounds not so good: the sound level is too high and too bright (too hot) to me.  The brass instrument also sounds very "digital" and edgy to me.  And I know it is not the problem of my gears since that is the only album make me wonder.

And then I got the soundtrack of Dead Man's Chest (the 2nd one).  The recording is a lot more better.  The sound level is about right and no harsh brightness at all. Nice recording.

So I wonder if any of you that have the individual CDs may help me to see if that 1st one was just bad recording or unfortunately I got bad or even the "pirate" version (No! I want the pirate music, not pirate CD. )

Because I love the music but cannot bear with the SQ of 1st CD, I wonder if it is worthy (from the SQ point of view since I know most music have been cover in previous release) to get this collection version:

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Soundtrack Treasures Collection [4 CD's + 1 DVD]

Or if you have other alternatives, please let me know.  Thanks for the help!

Hans Zimmer made a good job with this, specially with the remixes.

I would appreciate it a lot if you have both versions (individual release and the 4-CD release) and can help me out by check if

1. the individual release does have the too hot/too bright issue

2. the later 4CD re-mix avoid such issue.

Many thanks!

I finally got the 4-CD complete version.  The 1st CD still sounds too hot and edgy as the individual CD I got.  Too bad frown.gif
