Forza 3 (Xbox 360) appreciation thread

Thread Starter

I recently purchased F3 as my first 360 game... while I haven't gotten very far on it, I decided to create a thread (thanks MaZa) for general F3 information. Feel free to talk about the game, exchange gamer tags, upload skins/ decals, set tournaments etc. I'll be posting more here as I get deeper in the game and get a Live account. Happy racing :)

I really enjoyed this game and it was also my first 360 game. Then I sold the 360. I still have my F3 game though, probably will just hold on to it, heh.

I was somewhere into season 5 or 6 when I sold my xbox. Great game, but I decided to sell the 360 and build a PC. I still have a PS3 so I get Gran Turismo instead now. :)

Entertaining story. I too would like to build a pc, particular one that could handle star craft 2 but that's ot. Please visit again if you manage to obtain another 360 :)

If you are going to get an xbox live account, go ahead and buy a card now before prices go up 10 dollars.

Whoa, good to know thanks. When does this take effect?

November I think? If you buy the year cards now though you can use them at anytime in the future from my understanding. 10 dollars isn't a whole lot spread over the course of the year, but you could spend that 10 dollars towards something else.

Well that's gonna make alot of people angry, I bet it wont be long before they lower the price. I'll get my card now though, thanks.

So far, my fav car is the Mitsubishi 2003 Eclipse GTS, bright red with 18" enkei wheels (2nd to last on enkei's rims). Only because that's the car I drive in real life :)

To OP, yup much better now. :)

So far, I have been playing with american muscle and ponycars, favourite being Pontiac Firebird GTA which is my fav car in real life too, (knight rider childhood influence I guess. ) and one I will definetly own one day. Its a beautiful car with perfect lines too, designed with aerodynamics in mind without sacrificing the crude looks of that era american cars. One of the first cars you can buy and it can carry you very far through the game with steady upgrading.

Just starting a thread for this now? This fella has been out for almost a year!

It's a shame I don't have a 360 any more as I was really looking forward to this after making sweet love to Forza 2. Just a month and a half until Gran Turismo 5 finally makes it debut though!

I bought this when it first came out and kept meaning to get a racing wheel controller.  The XBox 360 wireless wheel price kept bouncing all around.  I figured it'd finally settle somewhere reasonable.  Then I completely forgot about it all.

This week I happened to see the game sitting there on the shelf and decided to check on the controller price.  I can get a new one for $250!!  WTH?  They were $80 or $90.  And it seems like there are very few places that even carry them.

So I looked around some more to see what other wheels were out there.  I didn't find much.  There's some German controller that looks fantastic, but after all is said and done it's, like, $500.  I'm not paying $500 for a wheel and some pedals.  It doesn't even have a seat.  Gah!

Anyone have a good recommendation for a wheel?  I haven't read anything good about the Madcatz, though it seems like the only other option.

TIA.

Unfortunately pretty much only worthy wheel is M$ one. While it has its problems it is pretty much only one that has proper forcefeedback. There are no other true forcefeedback wheels because of M$ greed, they use some kind of system others arent allowed to use without license. I dont remember if Fanatec wheels have one, they are pretty costly. But Logitech wheels for X360, while overall higher quality, are just wheels with some kind of faked forcefeedback (not sure how it works. Rumble and changing friction based on how much you have turned the wheel or something?)

When I got Forza3 long time ago I tried hunting myself the M$ one, but it was sold out everywhere. Its like it was being discontinued or something. Finally got one myself from used market. Are they still out or outrageously priced?

Yeah, it was the Fanatec one that was so expensive.  Looked nice.  No idea about the FFB.

I don't think MS is still making them.  Every place I look says out of stock.  And then I see things like $249 new from some dude on Amazon or the truly absurd like this

Apparently Fanatecs ARE fully X360 forcebeedback compatible. http://www.simhq.com/_technology2/technology_087e.html

A smooth move from Microsoft. Their console gets one of the best car racing sims ever made and at the very same time they stop making their own forcefeedback wheel. Nice marketing strategy, idiots... If they are no longer interested, why not make their system public so there would be a ton of 3rd party ones for cheap (like PS3 has) so we could get good quality logitech wheels with full forcefeedback effects? Fanatecs are way too costly unless you are... well... fanatic. (no intentional pun intended)

I have an old but still nice madcatz wheel and pedal. It was originally for xbox ps2 and gamecube, any chance there's an adapter or something so I can use it for my 360? Really though, I don't mind at all using the 360 game pad.

I know a guy who had a PS2 arcade stick and he used an adapter to hook it up to his 360, so I'm sure you'll be able to find one.
