Decided to move into a desktop rig. Any suggestions? I really want one that synergizes with teh cans well.

I just recieved a Matrix M-Stage for my Denon 5000's and it sounds very nice.  There are small "jumpers" on the bottom and when set to 10db it sounds great.

I have the original Matrix and it drives my Denon D7000 better than my 3X cost Decware. It also does great with the T1 but the tubes thrive with the T1, I highly recommend the Matrix and with the money left over go buy some nice music.
