MP4 players recommendations

Thread Starter

I'm currently looking for a new mp4 player

right now i'm using my cowon s9, unfortunately i broke the power button and the volume button (it's stuck and always lowering my volume = =!) since it's really pissing me off when i'm using it and i've used it for more than a year, i decided to buy a new player.

my requirements are that it's a mp4 player, cause i want to watch my anime on it. want the screen to be bigger than 3"

(so basically 480x272 resolution would be perfect, don't really need anything bigger than that)

sound quality!~  i was very pleased by the sound that is produced by the s9, also the fact that it can drive all the headphones i've ever tried. ( my friend has es7, a700, a pair of old beyer that is 250 ohms.... ath-pro 5 etc...)

therefore, i want a player that is as good ( a bit worse/better is fine) as the cowon s9.

however, i'm not really sure of buying the j3 (i'm not buying another s9 again!) cause they are basically the same. unless there's actually nothing other than that.....

so the price range would be anything up to $250, storage i'm looking at 8g+ (hopefully with a mini sd card slot)

it'll be great if it has wifi, battery life longer than 20 hours of music

right now across my mind is the sony x series, but they only sell the 32g ones which is $300+ if anyone knows a place where i can buy 8g or 16g from i'll be glad ( i live in canada btw)

sorry about a lot of the requirements, but one more thing, i don't really wanna buy something designed by samsung or other korean companies, no offense cowon is the probably the only korean brand player i'd ever buy

thanks

I would not agree that the J3 and the S9 are basically the same. The J3 is a far more polished player, the extra design gone into it shows!

So yeah - I suggest you look into the J3.

Wi-fi, I recommend the X although its browser is a little basic.

Archos 7 tablet is not bad. It has its quirk, but young people are quick to adapt it.

If you're watching anime with subs, 480*272 is not enough.

And you've missed Zune HD from your list.
