Need Your Help Please! Ultrasone Pro900 vs. ATH-ES10 for me? - Page 2

I haven't tried the Pro900 (yet) but based on what the other guys have said here, I am anxious to try them based on how much I already love my ES10s.  I doubt that you would regret the purchase and there should be many who will want to buy them from you if you decide that they are not for you.

Out of curiosity, what is the pricing of the ES10 in Japan?  And is it any different than those sold in North America?

Good luck and be sure to let us know what you think since you are a much more qualified evaluator than I.  My listening and commentary skills with respect to HPs is similar to shamrock's post #6 above.

Just a quick update.  I still have both of them and I would have the give the nod to the Pro900 for their completeness on the sound side.  It does a better job of separating the sounds than the ES10.  But I would have to give the nod to the ES10 when it comes to portability.  AT did a great job with its headband and the clicking adjustment mechanism.  Easy to set without having to look at it because the clicking is quite clear.

I just can't put the Pro900 down and I haven't even done the Kees mod to them yet.  I'm not sure if I am going to because they are so good as they are.  Plus, I'm a bit of a sound freak because I have a pretty high threshold for both sibilance and strong punchy bass.  I'm listening mostly to electronica/dance and some live singing with orchestra background.  The sound stage is quite amazing for a closed HP.

Shaggy-FOO, how are you doing with the ES-10 HPs?  How long have you had them now and are they keepers?  I see that you are interested in the Pro 900 too.  I love mine and I can't imagine a better set of HPs for trance/electronic.

Shamrock, I will have to admit that I am feeling a little upgraditus, although it's a 'bit' of a stretch but from the little that I have read so far, I like what I am reading about the Edition 8.  Your set for sale looks particularly interesting to me but I think I will need to wait a little since I just made a career change and I am making a lot less than I used to.  Would you mind sharing your thoughts on a comparison of these three headphones?  Thanks!
