Have you thought about getting an amp to power them to their potential?

Good luck with finding a trade! Free bump w00t w00t

I do wonder though, if you like the K70X so much... what on earth makes you think you would like an E8 or LCD-2? They are VERY different from both the K70X and HD 800.

That being said, I am sure you will appreciate a neutral headphone like the LCD-2 to complement your K70X. Ultrasone makes good closed headphones.

the amp idea is a good one too, because it could boost your K70X performance too.

The HA-160 has good reputation when used with the HD800. I think the next thing from there would be a Luxman P-1µ, but that is far fetched right now.

@sokolov: The HD800 were great, but were also similar to the K701; I am looking for something to complement the K701 since I am already perfectly happy with it, not a sidestep. It is for curiosity too, just interested in experiencing their sound as I did with the HD800. Thanks for the good energy guys.

I really want to trade the ED8 with you but the Problem is ,I havn't bought or sold here often.I just bought the T1 and Auditor here from Obqivst. and never sold anything here.(but I have quite reliable records in Ebay )

by the way ED8 is quite different from HD800 and K701. but if you don't care about the good Look of ED8,save the money and go for the DX1000.

Burson has not enough power to drive HD800 porperly (in this Price Range Auditor is very interesting. I saw one offer from German site,it cost just 570 Euro new.),Burson Ha-160 happens to have the best Synergy with K701.If you really want to know the real potential of HD800 have to find some good amps.

Another point the ED8 want to be burnt more than 500 hours (or 1000 hours according to some head-fiers) don't judge the Ed8 after just a couple hours.

I agree that the Burson is perhaps not the best choice for the HD 800, but I don't think the auditor is a particularly great either... it's pretty pricey for, as far I can tell, it's design and power output.

I realize this comment seems biased (and rightly so as I own the amp, but hear me out), but I would suggest looking at the Concerto as it already has an outstanding reputation with all major headphones, and more importantly it has the specs to back up these claims and impressions. A tube amp is also an idea, however it would work well with the HD 800, but if it is OTL it would not play as nice with a lower impedance headphone such as the LCD-2, or E8, or even your K70X.

For the price, the Concerto is a great performer, and can supply both a lot of current, so it will perform at its best with all headphones. With a discreet and balanced volume control, active ground, and very fast op-amps it is clear there is a lot of technology you get for the price, as well as it being designed by Jan who has a PHD in electrical engineering...

best of luck

maybe you're right cuz I've never heard the Concerto myself, but I'm quite happy with HD800 + Auditor(they are my friend's rig).
