Maverick Audio D1 - USB DAC or DAC/AMP?

I keep reading around, but I'm really confused about this. I want to buy a pair of active speakers and pair them with a USB DAC of sorts.

 

Does the Maverick Audio D1's USB DAC have line-level output into a active speaker's input port or is it designed just to fed directly into a pair of headphones?

 

Clarify me. Thanks.

The D1 has loads of input and output options. There are 3 analog outputs:

 - headphones out

 - tube pre-amp out

 - line out

And a volume control bypass toggle button.
