Hi, just wondering do these have to be "Burned in"?

Thanks in advance

Ok, thats a bit of a dangerous question on head-fi since a lot of members believe in burn-in and a lot of them dont.

I am a believer but that said I did not find much difference after burn-in with my pair.

So IMO, there is little change (if any) due to burn-in with the Portapros.

In a word "No", put them on your head and listen, if they change let me know.

You should be afraid that it might be a fake if it sound bad. Apparently They have fake portapros now.

Every headphone i purchased new has changed a little due to burn in some more than others. Just play and listen and make up your own mind. Regarding PortaPro i dont remember how much it changed because i bought them around 20 years ago. Mine is still going strong

portapros change a little with burn in. i compared a new pair with my old pair and mine sounded more dynamic and flowing. The highs also get a little better. They are not nearly as dramatic as my old hd555s burn in though which turned them from zero to hero. The fit and headband settings also make a difference in the sound.
