Amp advice for music only.

Hey there,

I'm looking for a good quality amp and any tips to improve my listing experience.

I will be using this amp to drive my audiotechnica m50. The headphones will be used for music and music alone so no need for fancy surround effects or the like. I'm thinking for using a small laptop for a source of music that way I can grab any of my music from my entire collection as I rip all my cd's to FLAC and play those instead of the cd's to avoid damage :)

Not sure how much my taste in music inflounces my options but I listen to:

- Metal, mostly old school heavy metal like Saxon, Savatage, Dio.

- Blues think Muddy Waters,  John Lee Hooker and the like

- Classic music I have a love for Violin music so pretty much everything Violin new and old.

I'm looking to spend around 500 ~ 750 euro.

Many thanks in advance for any advice :)!

If your source is a laptop, and you like classical music, then a DAC might be a better investment for an M50. Or if you're willing to spend 600-50 euros, you can just get a better pair of headphones, which will improve the sound more than anything else.

Look at the CE Entrance DACPort - dac and amp, works great from a laptop.

I'll look in to that.

Are there any other solutions besides a laptop for my situation? All my music is stored on my server are there any other solution except a pc/laptop that might be interesting?
