I thought I was hearing things when I first got them hooked up with the Z1070 Walkman and thought they should not be sounding like this at their price point and knew I had to get this hooked up to an amp and  sure enough the TTVJ slim changed things considerably for the better, still not perfect these cans but now actually are enjoyable, more involving  to listen to and still think there is more to get out of the Z1000's with a dedicated desktop amp & dac they would sing even more - that though will be a very patient wait for me to find this out!

It makes sense. They sound considerably better on my PCDPs than my iPhone. Still decent on the iPhone but these really do scale up and so more balanced when you give them a bit more juice.

I drive them out of an O2 and they sound phenomenal. Outstanding tonality and timbre whilst rendering the vocals and instruments. I couldn't justify selling them just because I've acquired Signature Pros and have HE-5LEs. Extremely honest and true to source and the recording are definitely some of the stand out key features.

They are similar but Z1000s are tend to be more neutral and extremely honest to the source. Signature Pro have got more lower to mid bass emphasis compared to the Z1000s but it's not bloated like the other Ultrasones. Both are equally detailed.

congratulation on your purchase, if you have tons of money to spare i suggest to use mundorf for the z1000. sounds fantastic at the cost of another z1000 headphone =(

I know this is kind of long shot but does anybody know if the V-Moda LP2 Exoskeleton case fit the Z1000 inside? Just thought it might...

quoted from another forum. theyre super expensive to me and its hard since it is single core, but the sound between the stock cable and the mundorf cable is quite far from each other. better control of bass, airy treble presentation, and it will sound more "open"

i just saw a_recording's pics just now and i noticed that the z1000 doesn't have any dampening material inside. i opened my friend's pair last week and i saw some strands of a cotton-like material inside the cups. and this particular z1000 has never been opened. i wonder why is that...
