modding the ultrasone hfi-700

so i have received a like new hfi-700 today, and have already begun modifying itt..

first i opened the left headphone, and have discovered a pcb with a few diodes... this was a problem, so i took it out... next, i took the wire transferring to the right headphone, so i can recable them and have them wired directly (Y cable)... i drilled the hole in the right headphone... then I dremeled all the plastic from the cups smooth... there was a lot of humpty dumpty plastic everywhere, it's not even aerodynamic that way.. so, after i dremeled, i added some bondo, or epoxy is fine too, to the holes,

and then sanded smooth...

after that, cut some felt to size, and spray glued onto the cups... there, now there is nice simple dampening...

i do not have the cable yet that i have ordered, but once i have it wired, i will test it and post results...

simple mods for the better, i hope? anyone else have any experience modding an hfi-700?

Great job...I could personally never do that to a headphone.  lol....I sent my 700s to Drew at Moon Audio for split entry re-cable with Black Dragon.

Good to see a little love for the HFI-700.
