I hope someone can give me some advice. I own a pair of AKG 702's and am really enjoying the sound. I don't have a lot of dough to throw around, but am satisfied with the results using a NAD c515bee CD player, with a Firestone Cute Beyond headphone amp. I have replaced the Op amps with OPA 627's.
For my next upgrade I was considering picking up a Firestone Spitfire DAC. My question is: Would the DAC and Op Amps in the Spitfire be a worthwhile replacement for those in the CD player?
