which amp will really get my grados to shine.?

i own the grado 225i and i want a portable amp, because i just want a mobility option as, i tend to use my ipod as a source and move around my house a lot.

 

id like to keep costs down and spend at most $200USD, i dont mind if the amp is used.

 

which sub 200$ amp no dac necessary will really make these things shine, and bring the most out of the them, or which amp is the best bang for my buck.

feel free to list what amp you have experienced with grados that will make them shine.

Grab a used Minibox-E+, it will synergize very nicely.

ibasso D4 I used to use it with my SR325is, amazing output details and that rock sound you yurn for,what have you got as a DAC.

When I first got my SR225is I said: maybe I'll never like Grados' sound signature., until I got a D4 Mamba : ) Now I'm loving it. I wonder how RSAs or other portables pair with these...

Agreed, my Minibox E+ pairs very well with my SR225 and MS2i.

Agree with the minibox E+ as Grado/Alessandro likes a lot of current to really shine.  Of the three the OP has listed, the Mini3 would be next.

Another vote for the D4 - I have had mine for more than 12 months, its battered and brusied, the DAC gave up long ago, but that little amp just keeps pushing air in a most enjoyable fashion.
