Anyone know where I can buy replacement pads for Sony R10s.  I just want to own an extra one in case the pair I have ever needs to have a refurbiishing.

Maybe they have gone the way of the CD3000 pads NA.

Audio Cubes II lists them as ever: http://www.audiocubes2.com/category/Headphone+Accessories/product/Sony_Replacement_Pads_for_MDR-R10.html

What makes you think that they are no longer available?

Listing does not mean availability.

Syntec International still has a box for the HE60 listed on their website.

Last week I got a cheque returning payment for one. Seems like Sennheiser no longer supply them.

Audiocube should still have them.  If they don't, it won't reflect on their order page.  They used to have order page for R10 drivers and headband.

Called Sony USA a few months ago about the same subject.  They no longer carry any orderable parts for the R10s.

Got curious and ordered a pair on the Audiocubes II site today. The order was confirmed as usual but as the pads aren't in stock and have to be ordered from Sony a cancellation in one or two days wouldn't surprise me.

No reply from Audiocubes yet, but Craig (Kuboten) told me that Sony Japan confirmed to be out of *right* R10 pads. Left ones can still be ordered. Now, I sometimes feel like having two left hands, but ears - no!

i'm interested in an extra set of pads as well. please let me know how this turns out! thanks

Are your pads really in that bad of shape?  Those leather pads should last for a very long time.  Mine still feels and looks new after 3.5 years of constant usages.

I just wish Sony would re-run the R10s, if they released brand new R10s using the same parts they could charge so much, and make so much money and everyone would be happy...............I predict if a headphone like the R10s were re-released with a retail price of $4000, there'd be over 1000 orders in less than a month.  That's 4 million dollars, Come on Sony............One month - 4 million dollars, if you ran for a whole year you could probably reach 10 million dollars!

Same advice goes to AKG with their K1000.......rerun then at $1000 a pop, I guarantee you you can sell over 2000 additional K1000s.  You have all the parts AKG, why not just assemble the damn thing and make some serious $$$$$

I wish for the exact same thing.  But seriously, I doubt Sony will ever do a re-run.  I bet that the original engineers and production crews had been retired and it would cost substantially more to jump start another production run.  It make a lot of senses to do a re-run when you have spare parts surplus, which was the case for the HE90 re-released back in 2004-05.
