Any one been to a Burning Amp get together ? what to expect ? is this a place where

a green horn diy er can feel welcomed, is it anything like Can Jam

just trying to get a feel for the October  Amp Burn.

I've been attending for a couple years now, and will go again this year.  It's very down-to-earth and DIYer friendly, after all that's what it's all about.  It's not headphone-centric, so you'll see a lot of speakers, amps, and other stuff.  It's not at all like CanJam in that there is a distinctive lack of commercialism (even though a few vendors do attend, it's very low-key).  Definitely check it out!  I took some pics at last year's and the year before, see here:

Thanks AMB for the information i will be going and this is my first ever amp get together, i never been to can jam. Funny that you replied i was at your site a day or so ago

i am very new to Diy amp building,i have no experience and have this desire to build amp kits, i looked at your m3

but the requirements do not fit me yet , i can follow a step by step, use a color chart for resistors, dont know how to read a schematic, or layout

its like a road map dont know where the hell i am with all jagged lines, broken lines, triangles you get the picture

where i am. i would like to build that m3 some day. i went to ITT INSTITUTE thinking i could take some classes

here in the bay area, well the guy sat with me for couple hours then wanted $46,000.00 for a two year schooling

thats crazy for just a hobby, so i don't know what to do, on hand learning is better for me that books, even video

teaching would work for me do you have suggestions ? i have the time for this hobby i am 52 and retired .

sorry for the long mail AMB, if you have some answers for me i would appreciate it much, looking forward

to October take care , i will look at the pictures you sent  thanks again

Try the suggestions mentioned in the following thread at headwize:

For Beginners: Books, Videos, Tools, Software and other Recommendations

There are also similar threads here at head-fi so search for them.

I don't know what others would do, but I won't be selling anything at the event.
