HD540 Reference 300Ohms. In excellent condition! Made in Germany, not Ireland.

The sound of reference II is worse than the one of Reference or the Gold, and II are made in Irland, not Germany.

 

The sound of gold is more balanced, while the sound of Reference is more beautiful.

Those are indeed very nice. I just replaced my Reference II that I had for years and loved, then they broke a few years ago and I replaced them with HD555, big mistake. The replacement HD540 R II that I just acquired still sound very good in the mids and highs, but I think I built them up in my mind a little. Anyway these are tempting. Good luck!
