Looking for a compact all-in-one sound system

Hello people, I am looking for a compact, low profile sound system to be used in the living room. We already have a Nakamichi sound space 8 and looking for something similar in size and better sound. Can anyone recommend a decent sound system that fits my criteria? Thanks!

It really is wonderful, but it's price isn't! I was looking for something around 1000 $ max but thanks for the suggestion anyway!
