I just bought a Senn HD555 a day ago after reading reviews abt it here for the past 2 weeks. (and have used it now for around 15hour).
I am using it with my onboard laptop soundcards(RealTek). The sound right now, is okayish, movies are sounding pretty good. But most audio files, specially the ones that are not of 320kps are sounding crappy.
Also, when i played the 555s with my nokia 5800 Express Music, and they sounded quite better. No noise, cleaner sound without that crumbling on high vocals. I guess the problem lies with the ordinary laptop sound cards.
With my budget and location, there are arent many options available in terms of amps and soundcards except for creative and ASUS. I have zeroed upon on asus Xonar U1 usb soundcard.
Can anyone of you suggest how the u1 fairs ?
Something a bit more better than Nokia 5800 is what i am looking for, cleaner reproduction, with low distortion.
And besides this, I hope Xonar reproduces better than its Creative counterparts.. and obviously better than the Realtek ones.
Would the change be "appropriately" visible from the Realtek to Xonar ??
And btw, can i hope for some more positive changes in my 555 as they are only 15-20 hrs old for now. ?
