IMHO, the differing preferences depends mainly on our different ears' normal/more/less sensitivity to treble.

As an owner of a mjolnir and pre-fazer LCD2, I agree with jodgey4's statement. You don't need to worry about it not being powerful enough.

Makes sense to me. Both the 560 and LCD 2 are excellent sounding headphones with I'll bet more in common than not (with the very obvious difference in treble extension). I'm not sure where I fit into things. I can tolerate a brighter headphone, but I certainly won't enjoy it that much, but the 560 works for me and the HD 650 was too rolled off for my taste. I would like more time with an LCD 2, as I suspect it fits nicely between those signatures.

WD40 works, so I hear.....

My amp is rated 2.25 VRMS max into 100 Ohms @ < 0.01% THD (50 mW).

Will that be enough to power the LCD-2?

And there goes my stock cable. Right channel keeps dropping out. Well I already have aftermarket cable so it's not a big deal. For moment I thought the driver was goner but it's just the cable.

Yes. But higher VRMS is smoother, especially for music with fast swings thru full bandwidth at loud volumes. Go for it.

That's surprising. The stock is pretty decent compared to other stocks.

What AM cable do you have for LCD-2?
