So which one is this exactly what version

That's the rev 1 housing before the metal angled connectors. If the drivers were replaced then the membrane and the magnets would be from a rev 2.xx.

If it looks like this you have LCD 2.1 with Rev. 2 drivers.

thats exactly what I have, so in general how is the perception of that driver compared to the newer ones, I just changed the headband with an all leather one as the old one was so ugly ;)

Rev2 drivers should sound like Rev2. As far as I know the only difference is the headband if you have Rev2 drivers. But if you changed that headband to the new one you are practically have LCD2 Rev2.

to me i think the rev2 or whatever i have sounds so dam good, that i think i will really have hard time to find a headphone that sounds as good as what i have now, it simply drove people nuts in blind test compared to lcd3 non fazor

sometimes i keep thinking which one can beet this sound, so i keep an eye on new headphones but when i read about them after the initial hype fades i find that my hp is the one to keep until now

Tonight, to change things up, I got out my HD650s after neglecting them for weeks. I was literally shocked as to what I heard. After listening extensively to the LCD 2.2F for weeks, the HD650s sounded very different. They clearly lag behind the LCDs in terms of resolution, imaging, and soundstage. And it's not a minuscule difference, either.

That's been my experience with almost every headphone upgrade I've ever done! At first it's 'meh, did I really just pay for this upgrade?'. But when going back to inferior cans you really hear the difference. Out brains need time to adjust to a different sound so initially the change is hard to grasp.

Once you hear the details and extention with better dynamics it's very difficult to go back to anything else. Hence, the search for even more begins! Sorry about your wallet!

Was there anything you preferred about the HD650. Or a situation where you think where you think would go to the Senn over the Audeze.

The HD650 are more relaxed with less of a treble presence. Some tracks call for that, but in reality, the LCDs do everything better. I can see how I may be in the mood for a more laid back presentation at times, like folk music or acoustic, but the LCDs truly are the better headphones. Aside from frequency response, the LCDs are also much better in imaging. The soundstage is much more coherent.

At the end of the day, it's a mood thing and not a technical capability thing.

I can see why. I still like them, though, and I generally hate selling stuff on the internet.

Yeah, my pair was almost brand new, so I sold it almost at no loss... but they just seemed redundant all of a sudden.

I bought in at $440, which was a good deal at the time. They're going for $290-300 now, so I'll just keep them rather than taking a huge hit on them.

I have a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50x arriving tomorrow. This is going to be a funny comparison to LCD-2F...

I was just looking for inexpensive closed cans for office, bedside listening and maybe some travel. Actually going to be my first closed cans.
