Hello fellow audezers i just received mine yesterday and i already have eight hours on them. The sounds that are coming from them are just amazing. The tonality, the clarity of sound without fatigue ,the bass extension and the midrange which is heavenly. All these things and i am sure more to come when they are fully settled will no doubt change my expectations from headphones with regards to their performance.I can only imagine what the lcd-3 phones sound like. But i am blissfully smitten already by the lcd2.Thank heaven for audeze.

Been off some month. Got conned on a balanced cable so still without. What is the choices now for an affordable balanced 4-pin cable with the mini XLR connections of the LCD-2?

I (still) recommend Norse Audio. The 8 conductor cable Trevor made for me was nice. Although mine was not balanced. It was cheap, for being a fancy cable, but expensive for being a cable. He also makes a lighter 4 conductor cable.

I have no opinion about whether it affects the sound, though. I find it more comfortable to use than the stock cable that shipped with my LCD2 (which as you know differs from the current stock cable).

For the record, a 6tf 8 conductor Norse cable with 1/4" plug cost 160 usd + 23 usd shipping back then. I do not know about current prices or the cost of the 4 conductor cable.

Yeah, it's a relief that Audeze was able to equip a headphone with better detailing than any other electrodynamic on the market, and keep the tonal balanced firmly focussed within the frequency response of musical scales and its arrangements, where the emotion in music as derived by the timing of varied pitches, actually resides.  Whereas other cans like to show off "special effects" that were never envisioned by the musicians and composers - the ART part.  The Science part of the LCD2 is also amongst the best out there available at any price.  Under 1 K too...go figure.

I don´t dare to be conned again but will surely look out. Been scammed on two of three attempts I made on the cable side.

I suppose this was better off in ther aftermarket cable but well my LCD-2 is not going anywhere. One of them anyway :)

Why not just get a balanced ADZ-6 cable? http://audeze.com/adz-6-b4

Apart from that, the only aftermarket cable vendor I'd personally buy from now is Moon Audio, who's very reputable. The Silver Dragon runs substantially cheaper than most other options from other cable vendors.

I have bought all my aftermarket cable to the HiFiMANs and Audezes from Q. Including balanced. The price is favourable, the different options and adapters also and so is the ergonomics.
