There's still the LCD-3 bass roll-off from Tyll's measurements I can't fully understand (not for this thread)... so this issue isn't 100% closed for me, but I think that post should cover 90% of the questions I've seen pop up around here by myself and others. I guess you never how sensitive your brain/ear system really is (or isn't) until changes come along. I think the most interesting thing that I learned was that Audeze switched driver materials at about the same time as the Fazor roll-out... and I don't think any of us knew.

In the end, the most important thing is that Audeze has me firmly on their team, and after my time dealing with them either at SXSW or through this last call... I can say I firmly stand behind them as a company. I'm a total fangirl now, haha.

Too right...and still seems kinda quiet for such an important revelation!

Great drumming track I found for LCD2.x.....

Love these the more I listen to them.

i don't know when i took my friend yesterday to a store that had both lcd2 and lcd3 we both liked lcd2 rev2 much much much more than the lcd3, even on every blind test we chose the lcd2 as we always found that the lcd3 was harsh in the treble or bright while the lcd2 had this full rich sound and no issue with the treble

now my honest piece of advise for audeze lcd2 rev2 owners and hugo

get yourself an amp like fiio e11 push bass boost and add it to the hugo and then listen to audeze lcd2 rev2 u will not believe the difference in full warmth and bass you will get in that combination, and to me the sound stage is amazing and full bass warmth and amazing

don't let people tell u about muddiness or whatever just try it and u will not regret it

You must be a serious basshead to bass boost an LCD2 :-)

You know what's funny is before I got an LCD-2, I read a lot and everyone was talking about the bass being good, but almost too much.  I boost it with my Arrow 3 on setting II so I must be a serious basshead

i am audiophile bass head :) i love audeze best ever headphone, in the beginning it was my hugo that did not give enough bass to audeze so after i boosted the bass with fiio connected to hugo now i am in bliss of audiophile bass land

what i am wondering about is what if i replace the cheap fiio e11 with a high end portable headphone amp with great bass boost quality and connect to the hugo, where would i be then

any idea which is a better headphone amp with bass boost than fiio e11 , how is the triad l3 what i like is it has a bass know level so i can turn the bass on to the level i like

ALO RxMk-3 B+

Vorzuge Vorzamp Duo

Cypher Labs Duet (no bass control, but great bass)

FiiO e12 (no tuning of bass boost, but better than the e11)

One observation I have made is the Q Audio Silk cable does make the LCD-2F sound a little smoother.I have always thought the cable doesn't make any improvements in the sound, but after using the stock cable for a month I can hear a subtle but nice change in the sound.

I find it interesting that nobody seems to really talk about the vacuum seal effect Audeze headphones have when you put them on or move them around on your head. So I'm curious if that is because the new fazor models eliminate this effect or just nobody cares enough to bring it up? I only have a late 2013 model before fazors, so I don't know how the fazor models sound or feel.

There's a weird feeling when I just put them on, but I don't care much about it once music starts playing. I also have Vegan pads on mine, so maybe "suction" effect is reduced somewhat.

I've never had that experience before but I also have fazor and vegan pads.  I just boxed up my HD600s today to sell them today.  I listened to them one last time and noticed how much more noise the LCD 2s let in compared to the HD600s when I'm typing away on a mechanical keyboard.

I'm absolutely happy the upgrade at this point.  Audezes beat the HD600s at pretty much everything but soundstage imo (which isn't at all a big deal for me).

Another question I'm curious about: Does anyone here have a head shape that reduces the amount of angle on the headphones? like a head shape that makes the pads positioned in a way that makes their angle less/almost flat in relation to the ear. and what changes to the sound does a change in the angle induce? Because surely Audeze can't predict every head shape ever, and since the angle is done by the shape of the pads, it will be different for every person, so I assume it wouldn't be good if a change in the angle changes the sound noticeably.

Interesting post I dug up on the earpads - measured vegan vs leather affect on SQ from MLE....

This ^^

I felt that the overall presentation was clearer.  I could more easily follow different instrumental threads in a complex orchestral piece.

For me, the Q-audio cables are just easier to live with ergonomically.  Even if that was their only benefit, is worth the reasonable price of entry.  I've gone back to the originals several times and I definitely miss the better resolution I get with the Q-audio cables.  Makes them an easy choice.
