If it's an older LCD2, then I dunno.  It probably will have lots of bass though.

Havent tried Fazor, but from a Fazor owner, that owns the HE-400 too, the Audeze has more and better bass, the kick and sub-bass presence / body is fuller.

From me, that I did a review half a year ago of another HE-400, and I own the LCD-2.2 aug'13 version, it has more and better too.

I'll throw in a Chang export on top to close the deal if they are in good nick.

Generous offer, particularly when one of the wits here claims that if you get the 'wrong' bottle of Chang the outcome could be anything from acute diarrhea to blindness. Gotta love the urban myths in this part of the world  ;)

That's interesting, I have the HE 4 and the LCD 2 Fazor [DEMO] and the HE 4 has better sub bass presance, and a touch more speed. although... that boils down to, For agressive FILTHY Dub Step, the LCD 2 Fazor is not for me, for Mellow Laid Back, Deep House, CLassic Dub  Step ect... the LCD 2 F is awesome, I still feel though the LCD 2 F can't wobble as nicely and tactily as the HE 4 can,

I also noticed that for "initimate" symphonic pieces, with 2-3 instruments tops, or every really avant Garde stuff [which is insaneo fast and layered but never more than 2-3 instruments in a second or two interval] the LCD 2 is gorgeous, much better tactility than the HE 4, how ever when 5+ instruments start at once, the HE 4 has a little better presentation

POR QUE

I like a good bit of... Throat Singing... the LCD 2 F how ever does not

and have I re mentioned I prefer [HIGHLY} my HE 4 for jazz over the LCD 2 F, WAY to much low mid body for jazz imo

Havent tried HE-4, so I cant tell you anything, but from the HE-400 thats what the 2F owner told me, and from my ears, my 2.2 aug'13 has more and better bass, texture/detail and pressure (body).

But I do like the HE-400 a lot, is my favourite Nº2 ortho, and I tried the HE-500, HE-400 is very fast and I love it for jazz and rock music, I like the LCD more because of its tone and laid-back sound that fits with me, but thats a matter of liking.

The bass of the HE-400 is faster tho, I like it more textured and slower. I was a big fan of the Sennheiser HD650 over the HD600 or HD800.

Yea thats a good desciption, the LCD 2 is a little slower and more laid back, it's technically better than the Hifimans, but it's not more aggressive, and I prefer a more aggresive sound :3

I just think it sounds like molasses.  I definitely wasn't in a rush to buy one after hearing it next to the he-400.

I wouldn't go that far, but... it is a little darker and slower than the Hifimans

LCD2 is so beautiful and real sounding. Me like much moar than he-400.

Can someone with experience tell me how much better an expensive amp or dac is versus my setup (e17 and e9)? Much appreciated

Nice thanks --- was also thinking of just saving for mjolnir / gungner? Unless I should just go with the compass 2 bc i can afford it way sooner.

Excited to see the sound get that much better. It's astounding already.

Those two would be wonderful I'd think. If you like the sound of what you have, feel free to save up for the better sounding gear, that will save you  money and trouble in the long run

I find some joy in upgrading in steps, but honestly, save up for the some what totl Schiit Amps, you'll be like uber blown away! And  while you save up KEEP UR EYES OPEN for a used deal on one of the two, I'd get the amp before the dac, as that might be a more noticeable upgrade

How do these (and planars generally) compare to the HD800s for detail?

so I am buying a used audeze lcd2 but the oil he has is finished, so are there places to buy such oil and which one to buy.

would any harm be done to the wood if I don't use the oil at all. I live in Israel and the weather there is not that hot or humid during the summer

Look for lemon oil. Usually it will be with the home cleaning products at the grocery store.
