Do you currently have the newer LCD-2 pads or the older ones?

I'm assuming they are the older/oldest revision, purchased used in mid 2012 and they were about a year old at the time. I'm guessing very close to the first batch of rev 2s.

Do they stretch much over time? I've noticed the clamping force on mine were strong, but it's loosened up to be more comfortable over the past few weeks.

hi everyone, can't find any info on this but for my bamboo LCD2, does it needs any maintenance? do I use the wood maintenance kit for bamboo also?

It does come with one, but it's not mandatory to actually use it. There isn't really any maintenance.

Just keep it away from panda's and you should be fine.

Easiest way to stretch em without wearing em is to space it apart over some thick novels/books. Helps a great deal.

I'm going to try the new pads and rods first, but if its not enough I'll give that a go. Thanks.

I stretched mine a bit to reduce clamping force. It did work but it does feel a little flimsy (maybe it's psychological).

Everyone likes pictures XD

Since My Schiit Asgard 2 and Uber Bifrost came in on Friday I have been listening to it on my LCD2 and Berdynamic T990. Ill write a few things i thought of the Schiit combo compared to Aune T1 with stock tubes.

I only listened to the Schiit combo for around 5 hours. I have probably used the Aune T1 for well over 100 hours.

Soo Lets just put this out here. IN MY OPINION the Schiit combo is "better" than Aune T1, but its not by much. To me the Schiit stack with LCD2 sounds cleaner at higher volumes, with better sound separation again at higher volumes. At low volumes I don't hear any difference... (low volume is schiit on low gain at around  8-9 clock, This is what i normally use)(high volume is around 12-1 o clock)

The Schiit can drive the LCD2 MUCH louder.

Berdynamic T990 Actually has more difference, With the Schiit its not only clearer but also less tin can, Highs feel less sharp. Again not like day and night difference more like a bit. >< But with longer term listening a little bit less highs makes a difference, I can use the T990 for longer time with the Schiit, less fatiguing for the ear.

Also my better is like 5% better... at most. the difference isn't that big.

I can clearly tell the difference between LCD 2,x,3,xc and other headphones, I have heard many.(as in I can tell the difference really well don't have to A/B it for hours...)

So yes Schiit is better but at 7 times the price..., But I don't regret buying the Schiit because it looks quite a bit better, and knowing the fact that I have better gear.... XD

O yes I also had the Mjolnir for 2 month going Aune T1 as dac to Mjolnir, TBH (please don't flame me...) Aune T1 going to Mjolnir and Aune T1 by itself sounds EXACTLY the same........ no difference...... with LCD2

Everything i didn't talk about just means I couldn't tell the difference :P

Everything is just what I think....

now time to save up for HD800...... lol

VERY interesting. I've been using my Aune T1 for my LCD2.2, and I've actually found it pairs really well. I just keep getting this feeling of "but what if the tube is colouring the sound too much..?" and keep looking at very expensive DAC/amp combos, and wondering if it's worth buying into them.

But I still love the pairing, and I've been a little hesitant to upgrade. Your post is making me feel a little settled about it.

Out of curiosity:

I'm assuming you've played with the gain switches under the Aune T1? I actually use mine on 50% gain (one switch up, one down, on both channels) and never need it past half-way.

Full gain is actually too loud - going past 25% on the volume is very loud.

I use everything at low gain and i mean much lounder as in Aune in high gain and schiit in high gain and max volume.

I honestly don't think I could put my Aune on full gain, with maximum volume with my LCD2.2. I'd be to afraid. If I did, they certainly would not be on my head.

I'm interested in your comparisons. I need a cure for my upgrade-itus.

:o
