Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread - Page 154

It feels pretty strong to me, I can't bend it with my hands. It's pressed steel. If it doesn't survive a bunch of falls, I'm sure Audeze will replace the part. You can call them up to confirm, they're very nice. :)

Why not, what happens?

It's tuff as nails as I tried all kinds of way of breaking mine.

Boom!

Haha. No what happens is that it's hard to align the cups to their default position (angle?). I'm very OCD about things like this so it drove me nuts until the good folks and Audez'e corrected it for me, while they went about replacing my pads and drivers last October.

How much did that cost you?

What was wrong with your pads and drivers?

Well I bought my current LCD-2 in August (2nd or 3rd set? can't remember). Anyways. I noticed that the pads were uneven, and the LCD-2 sounded a bit off, after burn-in. It sounded a little "veiled" all of a sudden. So I sent the boy in for a full check up.

It cost $0 (However, I did pay for the shipping to Audez'e)

How fantastic!

Interesting about the sudden veiled sound. Did they diagnose it?

All they said was that something in my driver was not right. It sounded fine to me for the first month or so, and then one day it suddenly sounded kind of off. So I started burning them in thinking it might get better, but it never did so it had to go back to HQ.

It sounds better than ever now, and in fact is the best sounding LCD-2 to date for me, and I've heard several now.

Thanks for clearing that up. I should be receiving my bamboo & leather LCD-2s later today, I can't wait!

I just received my LCD-2s and I'm loving them, I just wish I had more time to listen to them. I would also like to mention that my package didn't include an FR graph. Did they stop sending those with the newer shipments?

This is a headphone that I have been considering.....would the safest bet for  an amp with great synergy be the Mjolnir.....or is there something as good for cheaper.......something that will get the most from the phones.

Any difference in sound from bamboo & rosewood
