Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread - Page 108

Yeah I accidentally cracked mine which gave me one reason to sand it down and apply a better looking finish than what Audeze has offered (excluding Bamboo). Suffice to say if anybodies LCD2/LCD3 cracks, first thing to do is don't panic as it is very easy to fix.

Also I meant Jarrah oil stain not Jarrab.

Thanks for the head amp advice.
I am currently debating between a few options. Barring in mind I need to be able to get this to work and back daily, otherwise I would get the lyr.

Alo pan am
Alo international (though I don't know how I feel about a portable as my main amp, nor do I know how much better it would power them than my e12, though I have heard some good things.
Burson soloist sl.

I really don't know which way to go.
Another issue is going the burson lcds me with no money for a real dac, meaning I would be stuck with an e17, which would let that anp down.
Any other suggestions for transportable amps/dacs for sub $600

Thanks guys and girls you are awesome

This is my Graph

This is from my repaired pair. it's more open sounding, comparing it to my original pair

What do you think compared with your pair?

I think that looks very nice. I would pretty happy with it if I were you. I've seen darker, much darker response graphs before.

In addition to my questions I figured I may as well pop my graph up.

Hi all, I just dropped the bomb and decided to get the Audeze LCD 2 using whatever savings I have made over the last few years. I guess I have been "poisoned" by it's sound smily_headphones1.gif

My balanced cable arrived this afternoon and I've been listening to my Super LCD-2 on the Emotiva, that's right I'm calling it Super LCD-2 evil_smiley.gif. Man this thing sounds ridiculously open, it has just as much upper-mid presence as the HE-500. I think I need to bring this bad boy to a meet so I can let people listen to it.

I know LCD-2 got plenty of love in the past, but man these are so great. It's a shame they're no longer FOTM. The mids are truly magical, just so damn lush and pleasant, espcially with more upper-mid energy. Just so open and lush at the same time. The one thing I noticed about this LCD-2 is that the treble has a lot more finesse. No harshness I detected with my previous LCD-2s. I'm so happy right now. Thinking about selling the HE-500 to buy the TH900, but I think I'll resist. Just save up and buy the TH900 or TH600. The journey continues... biggrin.gif

Hi guys I'm back again, just wondering if I should get a NuForce HDP amp or the ifi iCan's amp for my LCD2 I'm pretty limited on space and money as well so any recommendations below $700 is appreciated. Please feel free to dissuade me from either amp too cheers !

There is currently a soloist on eBay au (not mine, lol). I'm sure it would be fine with the E17.
