And really need more impressions of the sound.

I'm still waiting to get one....

I'm mostly curious as to whether or not it will output accurate sound.

Would that be "audiophile", though? wink_face.gif

If I got it I would use it as a desktop transport. Never for portable use.

burt why would you do that? easy to get better hardware for this money for home gear.

also to be fair in relation to the review that is mentioned above comparing it to itouch low Z drive, its a pretty tall order to beat for a dap, as the touch and iphone are well known for their excellent and linear drive/response into lowZ headphones

Precisely, there's really no point to this thing. Maybe it would be cool for plane rides, but the interface+battery life are probably bad

It does have a powerful amp. I can see portable use with closed full size headphones. You could utilize the digital outs with a portable DAC like the Ibasso Boomslang and run that to a good amp like the SR71B or the Toucan, but that is a huge three box option this is slightly bigger than even the Imod/Vcaps/amp solution of yesteryear.

You could also use the digital outputs with the JH-3A.

I've been told the battery lasts 30+ hours. The built-in amp is alright, but not as powerful as that of the HM-801. I'll be trying it in a couple of hours.

30+ hours?  How many mAh is the battery?  I'm going to call BS on that.

Yep. With those parts and that much power, that's one heck of a battery. Or maybe they finally installed super-capacitors.
