Up for sale, reluctantly, are my Grado HF-1 #69. I don't want to sell them but have some necessary expenses coming up. They are in mint condition and the come in their original box which has been well cared for.

$300.00

What was the cost for them brand new?

this question is better addressed via a pm. that stated here's some background. they were limited edition phones made just for the h-f community. i think ~481 were made, iirc. they were sold for ~$205 + shipping and were widely beloved. once the production run sold out the prices quickly headed north. it wasn't that long ago that they routinely sold for greater than $400, even approaching $500 at one point. since the intro of the hf-2 last year their prices declined somewhat, and are now probably generally in the range asked for here. they are a really nice phone and there aren't that many around. if you like grados and can afford them i'd recommend going for them. hell, there are folks who'd pay more just to get this serial #, not to mention the chance to deal with such a distinguished h-fer ....

Thank you for the information. I did not question the asking price but was curious to know the original cost. I do repect the fact that the are limited edition and the price seem right. I'm just debating between these and other Grados like HF-2 but the serial # is vary tempting. Cheers
