SOLD: Sennheiser HD-800s re-terminated balanced

A friend of mine was going to buy these from me, but backed out due to lack of funds, so I'm putting them up for sale here.

They are #539, purchased from HeadRoom in the very first batch in June last year.  I re-terminated the cable with a 4-pin XLR for use balanced, and used the end piece with the original plug to make a single-ended adaptor.  I can re-terminate the cable with a Furutech or Neutrik TRS plug if desired.

They have spent their life hanging from a Koss hold-a-phone in a smoke and pet-free environment.  I don't use any scented deodorants or anything else, so they don't smell either.  I have the frequency response graph from Sennheiser for them as well.

They have the faint spring noise in the hinge above the right cup, which I believe Sennheiser was fixing for people under warranty. I'm not sure what the status is with that now, but the sound has never bothered me.

Otherwise, they are in excellent condition.  I shall take photos shortly.

$1200 SHIPPED WORLDWIDE via EMS (with tracking and insurance).

LCD-2 now king of the hill?

For your consideration: I want to trade a HD800 for a Cambridge Audio 840C silver (original box, remote, manual), the player no need presentation (neither the HD800). Reason to trade: I'm going to use only my iMac as source (hard decision because the 840C is an outstanding player). Let me know. Best regards. (Shipment to and from Queensland, 4067)

As tempting as it would be to try an 840C out of curiosity, I already have a CD player.  If I did agree to the trade, I'd want it + cash.
