FS: Alessandro MS-2 (SOLD)

Hello all!

Up for sale is my pair of Alessandro MS-2s in very good condition.  These are the newer version with the aluminum ear cups that "mushroom out.".  The aluminum cups are in pristine condition with no nicks or scratches, and the leather headband and bowl pads show virtually no signs of wear.  The only wear that is apparent on these headphones is at the Y-junction where the cables from the left and right meet.  At that location, the outer cable insulation shows a little bit of wear and weakening.  Fortunately, this has no impact on the sound, and it shouldn't present much of a durability issue either.  These headphones were kept and used in a clean, smoke-free environment.

The MS-2s certainly share in the characteristic sound of the newer Grado models, except with the extra level of refinement (and slightly more neutral presentation) that is found in the Alessandro lineup.  They have good, strong visceral impact in the bass, lush mids, and surprisingly smooth highs.  They are very versatile and work well with many kinds of music, but they seem to excel with rock and metal music in particular.  One complaint that people often voice about the Grado SR325is (the Grado model that corresponds with the Alessandro MS-2) is that they have somewhat shrill treble.  In my experience, this is definitely not the case with the MS-2s.  The MS-2s are well extended into the high frequencies, but I would say that their treble is much smoother and less shrill than my Grado SR60is.  I can truthfully say that I never had a problem with listening fatigue while using the MS-2s.

I really like the sound of the MS-2s, but with the HD800s in my stable of headphones and a pair of LCD-2s on the way, the MS-2s just aren't getting that much head-time anymore.  Therefore, these headphones are up for sale, with the proceeds going towards funding the purchase of a new amplifier.

I am asking for $210 for these headphones, with shipping and Paypal fees included (and I will only accept Paypal for payment).  I would prefer to keep these within CONUS.  The headphones would ship in their original packaging, most likely via USPS.
