Gigantic sell on all Monster headphones over at J&R!

They can be found at J&R website, or J&R through Amazon.

WOW, MMDT only costs $269 shipped. And don't forget $10 off J&R coupon, "GEICO10", with $100 or more purchases.

Oh wow. I honestly do not know what just happened.

I've been planning on the AD900 for a while now, but all of a sudden these come up. Almost instantly, I changed my mind and went for these.

So I just ordered the Pro Gold. I'm still amazed that I did. All this time I thought I was going to get a full sized headphone. I'm really excited none the less, I just feel a bit baffled.

Guess I will not be getting the AD900 anymore. At least I still have my AD700.

For those that have been put off by Monster prices this is time to strike while the iron is hot if you ever wanted some of these.

Coppers are $224.  Use the coupon and thats $214.

Which is exactly why I got some. Even though I had OTHER headphones on my mind.

Yes I agree. If you were ever curious, now is the time. Gold and Copper get 1 time replacement warranty!

Wow...if I didn't already own the Ety HF2, I would've jumped on this right away.  I tried out the non gold Turbines for a few weeks once and was very very impressed.  Bass was strong and yet not distorted.  The detail was comparable to the HF2.  Maybe the HF2 is more accurate/analytical, so in the end it just comes down to preference.  I can only imagine how much more I would've liked the Turbine Gold's...

Why is this a DEAD ALERT :D Still going strong.

Funny thing is, I tried to order the AD900 from Amazon with my gift card, but it would not work. I tried ordering last night, and it didn't let me, so I emailed them. Their first email didn't help too much, so I sent them a second one this morning, detailing it better. While waiting for their response, I tried again and again to order the AD900! It simply would not let me, even though I had enough on my gift card. Then, out of curiosity, I looked up the Turbine Gold, to find out they happened to be on sale for an incredible price.

How could I have resisted?

So I just ordered those instead. And I'm quite glad I did, as now I still have quite a bit of money left in my gift card. Besides, if I want the nice airy soundstage, then I'll just listen to the AD700. Now, they won't get displaced due to the upgrade, so they will always get used, which is a good thing. And now, I can finally replace my Philips 9850, with something truly exceptional. Now, I just have to wait for them to ship, and arrive! Sorry everyone, I'm just too impatient, and too excited to keep all this contained!

Their replacement warranty was a huge turn on as well.

Copper:

Balanced U/V shape.  Quicker driver, less decay but still good.  Good solid bass, bright enough treble just barely north of accurate.  Requires more play w/ insertion adn placement for optimal signature.  Although that can be used to tune the signature as well.  Definitely tthe pick for Metal and Electronic.  Could be seen as more analytical and slightly less engaging than the MDs in comparison over time.  Wider soundstage.  Definitely better suited to the technically conscious w/ their music.

MD:

Think Dynamic version of SM3 sound but more complete mids and coherent sound, not as technically focused.  A bit slower than the Copper but better decay and reverb.  More forward mids and tip dependent on opening up clarity and cooling the warmth.  Can be inserted deeper due to housing shape.  The no brainer choice for hip/hop, rap, and Jazz (unless you want more emphasis on horns for Jazz than Piano and Cello).  These are euphonic in that they can expand your content by playing even poorly mastered modern stuff.  Soundstage more intimate and 'smaller' but you can sense actual depth and some imaging where it is like a small club stage.  Not really blobish IMO, others may disagree.  Not disimilar to the M50s but w/ more forward mids.  But remember IEM v headphones here, adjust expectations accordingly.  Suited better to the intuitive and emotive listener IMO.
