What is the HDTV/3DTV equivalent of head-fi.org? I'm looking at getting one and am starting on some research. Googling just throws up cnet and fly-by-night review sites. TIA!

AVS forums isn't too bad.

I believe there was a thread like this just a month or two ago, I'd recommend doing some page digging!

I read avsforum.com for a long time before purchasing a tv, receiver, and speakers three years ago. A lot of good information there.

audioholics is also an excellent home theater resource

Another vote for AVForums, although it's mainly UK-based. HDTVTest is a good review site too.

Thanks everyone for chiming in. So to summarize, we have

www.avsforum.com 3D TV section here

www.audioholics.com TV section here

www.hdtvtest.co.uk here

These should serve me well as I start my 3D HDTV journey. Thanks all!

AVSForums is a great resource. It can be overwhelming (even more so than head-fi) simply because there are so many models of televisions and because most television have some crazy model number/sku as its name/reference so you'll have to prepare for a whole lot of nonsense names etc. Like head-fi you'll want to be sure to utilize the search function. Also AVS is as serious about home theater as head-fi is about headphones so don't read too much into some of the issues and complaints as it can get a bit crazy and nit-picky.

I recommend finding a few models of tvs that interest you before heading over to avs and then researching those models, otherwise the amount of info can overwhelm.
