Kevin-

Congrats on finding your "happy place"!

You've accomplished what so many of us can't seem to do, and I think it was your approach to the whole thing and the sage advice of many other members here that allowed you to reach this place. It really is a testament to the true "community" here at Head-Fi.

I want to also thank you for your generously offering up your Total BitHead to the community (who could have been the lucky recipient? I will give you one guess ;) ). I look forward to receiving it and will be certain to write the best review I can of it.

Drew

Thanks Drew,

I look forward to your thoughts on it and your right about the community.  We just need to keep it that way.

I just finished reading through your thread, and I'm left with one question...

Before I ask, I should let you know that I appreciate quality cables and the changes that they can make to a headphone/speaker setup (to a point)..

What on earth are you expecting expensive cables to do for your external hard drive? I can understand their value in other parts of the rig, but the hard drive?

Anyway, hope this wasn't too bad of a necro.. And I hope you're enjoying your music thoroughly!

Honestly... I don't know.  Maybe it will change the sound, maybe it won't.  I'll have to wait and see when I buy a Kimber to use with it.  I would bet it would transfer the data from HD to my computer with more accuracy, but I'm not sure one way or the other.

On the point of enjoying music, my roommate, who is used to seeing me listening in my dedicated room, has even commented about the increased time I spend in there now. And with the DavidMahler style of organizing my music server, I'm also listening to more variety in my collection, rather than the same 20 or so Cd's

We all have our favorites, I just have some "go to" music when I don't know what I'm in the mood for.

Right now I'm listening to Digitonal's Save Your Light for Darker Days and its wonderful
