The Tenor chip indeed.  Sonically it's a bit of an improvement over the regular PCM2706/7 too. He is also offering a 1-wire-to-solder WM8741 upgrade for the Sparrow and Fun.  I haven't tried that one, but going by reports these things seem to be, bit by bit fixing the harshness issues we talked about back in the Compass days. The 8741 certainly measures a lot better than the AD1852, though I'm not sure how much that is realized in low-end gear.  There's a Sabre32 DAC as well now, as the PCM1704 is going up in price apparently.

I'm interested in the NFB-2/3 and like stang, I'll have to wait a few months too...

He can raise the price of his R2R DACs.  Just because the 1704 chip is getting more expensive is no reason to stop using it, if so many people like it.  I really hope he does not stop using them.
