How to change RE0 filters?

post #1 of 5

They're right on top of the nozzle and seem to be fixed on with an adhesive... How do you get them off??

Thanks

try getting a pin and lifting 1 side a little.

after you have i side up a bit put the pin under the filter and lift.

if you do it right you should be able to reuse the filter again.

its not a strong adhesive.

If you have an Xacto knife you can carefully peel the filter off along with the adhesive so you can put them back unless you mean to permanently replace them with a new pair, then it doesn't matter.

Also, has anyone tried these without the filter.

Not sure how accurate this is, but this;

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Head-Direct/RE0/2.html

review states that the filter is designed to be acoustically transparent, unlike the Etymotic filters which roll off the highs...

Anyone tried these filter-less?

"Acoustically transparent" should always be disregarded as far as IEM filters and headphone foams/screens/whatever.

RE0 in particular is fatiguing without the filter, I find.  Or you may like it - give it a try.
