So what was the outcome of your coin toss?
very nice. same guy serviced my beyers when i damaged them. great service and support.
This guy needs a raise!
I may be thinking of something else, but didn't it take you a long time to get them back?

So do I... ![]()

Just in case anyone is curious how my puppy-induced cable damage issue has been going...
I got word today that Beyerdynamic is actually going to cover this as a warranty repair. A guy named Peter Castelli went to bat for me and got it covered as an exception. I already love my Beyer headphones, but knowing they give a you know what about their customers and will make an exception like this just adds to my appreciation for them.
So, off they'll go to a place called Sound Surgeon in New York for a cable replacement :)
Wow that's cool. Very impressed. Mine took a while, they are coming back on Tuesday, I am fidgeting already I can't wait to have them in settled on my head and plugged into my phonitor.
I already have a ton of music lined up that I acquired while they were gone.
The source with the RxIII is CLAS and its single ended input to output.
I'm considering to re-terminate the T1s to mini 4pin XLR. This way I could use the balanced out from the RxIII and also the ECBA.
Any thoughts on after-market cables, anyone..
Why would you?
...to come back later???
Is T1 as bright as Sennheiser HD800 ?
Hi,
No it's not as bright but has an equal amount of detail in the treble. The T1's treble is smoother and slightly rolled off.
Depends on the T1 actually. I've heard T1's brighter than the HD800. Where the 800 can does have a peak at 6khz that makes treble sound harder, the T1 can have a mountain from 7-10khz which to my ears is actually worse than the 800's raised plateau. There is significant enough amount of variation among T1's to really know how bad it will be for any particular listener. A T1 with boomier midbass and less reccessed 1-3khz in the mids also helps to mitigate some of this comparison to a bright sounding HD800 too. Not to mention people who plug them into all sorts of interesting gear.
Which is the better of the two for classical / movie music ?
Hi,
I think the T1 is good for classical but the HD800 sounds best with that genre. The HD800's massive soundstage is perfect for it.
