It's not a big problem with mine, it's just minor brightness, but it's definitely there. Keep in mind mine seems to be different than yours in bass too.

More data for two versions.......

If you remember I almost sold mine too.

Chances are it's not his ears, because I had both versions.....  bigsmile_face.gif

What was your impression of the T1 on the WA6 and what tubes were in there?

I don't know the exact tubes he has, but compared to the HDP I did not hear much of a difference. It wasn't until I tried his very best amps/dacs that I really heard noticeable and obvious improvements over my HDP, though not large enough that I would go out and spend the money unless I had nothing else to buy.

1.

is there any type of 1/4 jack-plug available on the market for T1

to reduce the sibilance a bit at the top freq's?

2.

which amp/dac combo is the next consider in SQ for T1 above HDP prize to avoid

the emphasized juicy treble (i mean SOLIDSTATE, NO tubes please - especially European manufactured)

3.

Anybody tried this one?: ADE-tuning

http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/531401/ade-tuned-beyerdynamic-t1

THANKS

EQ it down a little bit.  This is the EQ curve I used for my bright bass light T-1s.  It may help you a little.  Adjust to your liking.

A previous post mentioned  the T1s being bright with the ß22. I am beginning to think the ß22 is a little bright itself. My HE6s and K701s both seemed bright off of it.  I think the T1s sound best off of a tube amp (only listened to them on the ß22, WA5-LE and Valhalla).

I have yet to try any EQ settings though. upstateguy, what program is that eq from?

The Beta22 is not bright. I'd check the source connected to it if I were you, unless the amp build itself was suspect ofcourse.

The EQ is from foobar2000 BTW.

Hey Shah

Would it be so hard to think that he got one of the bright versions?

His sources don't look like they are the problem, and as you said, the Beta isn't.

I think Tyll's graphs show there are significant differences among T1 units out there, so it could be. But, wotts is saying that all his headphones sounded bright from the Beta.

I only noticed the brightness after going to the last head-fi meet and comparing my amp to the others there. Most of my headphones still have low hours too, so it could be something a little more burn in will solve. And I may just like the tube sound better. I'll try to get some time comparing my amps this weekend.

I don't know about the HE6, but the 701s are definitely bright from any amp.

The brightness and upper-mid sibilance of my T1s were cured by recabling with Zeus Hex22 cable (balanced for me with Wireworld XLR connectors).

The recabling makes a huge difference. No resolution is lost as far as I can tell.

The bass may be just slightly less tight but overall it is a warm & friendly bass with fine control and lots of detail.

The amp that addresses the brightness best is a Rudistor (the RP010 for me, now discontinued).

The T1s are just much superior now, and I really love them.

I still have a stock pair (I feel they are very special phones, the first Beyers I could live with actually) so I can tell the difference easily.

Just for the record about my listening preferences, I cannot stand brightness or glare at all in phones or speakers, and I detect it in most phones

(even LCD2s in the upper mids sometimes), and I usually end up doing whatever mods I can to fix it.

wow thanks.

have you tried zeus hex22 cabled t1 with other amp too ?

if a headphones is XLR plugged, does it mean that the cable is also balanced on it ? or is that independent ?

I also very sensitive for sibilance.

and is will use is with HDP, so I have to do something. but HDP has not XLR on it, so what to do ?

i can EQ,

i can try ADE mod,

i can try

anything else ? (no amp/dac change, no cable change)

How do you hear ANY sort of brightness in the LCD-2?
